Supreme Court grants interim bail to Jayalalithaa in disproportionate assets case.

Tamil Nadu: Former Tamil Nadu chief minister gets bail
The Supreme Court on Friday granted interim bail to former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa in a disproportionate assets case. The bail application, based on Jayalalithaa’s poor health, has been extended up to December 18. Last month the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief was convicted by a local court in Bangalore to four years in jail and fined Rs 100 crore for amassing wealth through corrupt means. The apex court judgement arrived on the 43rd anniversary of AIADMK’s founding.
