Though the vast majority of the tribal communities in the Northeastern part of India critically look at India’s Lookeast Policy as another form of implementing the destructive developmental agenda of the state and major intervention into the peaceful life of the tribal communities there, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday said Myanmar can be a critical partner in India’s Look East policy.
The Prime Minister said this while addressing the think-tanks and business community on the last day of his visit to Myanmar at an event- India and Myanmar: A Partnership for Progress and Regional Development- organized by Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Myanmar Development Resource Institute in Yangon. http://www.newkerala.com/news/newsplus/worldnews-28998.html#.T8WyzLAtj64
